Mounting bookshelves, framed art and electronics on the walls of a room can reduce clutter and add an air of sophistication to any space. Of course, you'll want to make sure that you attach these items to the wall properly, as a mistake will result in damage to your wall and whatever item you attempted to hang.

The method you use to hang items will depend on the wall material in your home. Different anchors and screws work with either plaster or drywall, and a discussion with your local hardware store staff should help you find the perfect option for your home.
